We Look Forward To Meeting You!
Welcome to Peace Lutheran Church. We’ve put together some information here that anticipates and tries to briefly answer some of the questions you may have prior to visiting our church for the first time. Please note that during the Covid-19 pandemic our worship and other activities are being offered virtually; information about how to connect is found by going to the Worship, Ministries and Events pages. The best way to stay informed is to sign up for our weekly e-news!
Atmosphere
It's important to us that you feel welcome when visiting. We hope our atmosphere will help you feel relaxed and comfortable. The music and worship are built around Biblical themes that are timeless, following the great sweep of the Biblical story, from Creation through the early Church, through the readings in the Revised Common Lectionary. We are glad to have you join us in worship! You will be greeted and welcomed.
Family Friendly
No matter your family dynamics, you're welcome at Peace Lutheran Church and we're excited for you to consider being a part of our church family! Our intent is to serve the whole family. Here's what you can expect from worship:
We worship…
on Sunday at 9:30 am (And, during Lent, on Wednesday Evenings)
We celebrate Communion…
every week. Everyone’s welcome at the Communion table, no exceptions. We offer communion instruction to children in 2nd grade (or at any age at parents’ request).
We hear Scripture...
and a sermon that will help you reflect on the reading for the week.
We love kids…
so there are Creation Stations at the back of the sanctuary with new worship-themed creative activities each week for kids.
Children are part of our Worship Team and Service Teams, helping set up and serve communion, read scripture, and lead us in music.
We know that kids like to wiggle and move, and sometimes there’s a little noise…we consider this a sign of God’s lively presence and it’s part of who we are!
Parents, if you need a little time out during worship with your tiny ones, we have a playroom with rocking chairs and a screen with sound so you can hang out there and still be part of worship.
We enjoy being together…
so we hope you will stay to enjoy a time of fellowship and treats after worship!
We love to make a joyful noise to the Lord…
Our Music Team leads our singing with guitar, keyboard, bass, Cajon and vocals. We usually rehearse on Wednesday evenings during the school year and before worship on Sundays during the summer. The Music Team welcomes anyone interested in singing or playing an instrument to join. Youth or adult instrumentalists are also welcome to participate in worship.
We Learn and grow together
Here at Peace Lutheran Church, we place a high priority on the preaching and teaching of God's Word. The worship service is a time for us to come together as a community to learn, be encouraged and to be challenged by God's Word. Other opportunities exist beyond the Sunday worship service where members have a chance to grow, serve, enjoy fellowship, or otherwise be a part of a Church family that lives out their faith together.
