The Youth Ministry of Peace Lutheran Church
We want all of our youth to know Jesus Christ and to find their ultimate joy and satisfaction in Him. We have designed our youth ministry to deepen understanding of the greatness of our God, and to give youth encouragement in their lives of faith. Check out our events page to see any upcoming events for the youth of Peace Lutheran Church.

7th – 8th Grade
- 7th Grade -- Confirmation Camp at Good Earth Village
- 8th Grade – Confirmation Day (Affirmation of Baptism)
Confirmation classes for 7th and 8th graders will follow a pattern of Year 1: Bible and Year 2: Catechism.
Year 1: Bible, using the curriculum Re:Form Ancestors and the book Grit and Grace. We’ll learn the big story of God’s salvation through some of the most interesting people in the Bible, from Adam and Eve to John the Baptist to Lydia!
Year 2: Catechism, using Luther’s Small Catechism and Here We Stand. We’ll learn about the Ten Commandments, the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer and the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism.
In both years there will be opportunities for fellowship events, worship leadership (reading scripture & prayers, singing on Music Team, serving on Service Teams), and service to our neighbors. 7th graders will also attend Confirmation Camp at Good Earth Village.
At the end of 8th grade, youth who have completed the two years of Confirmation classes will affirm their baptisms on Confirmation Day.
CONFIRMATION CLASSES BEGIN ON OCTOBER 7
Due to Covid, we will be holding classes via Zoom on Wednesday evenings from 7-7:30 pm. We will try to arrange in-person fellowship events as well (bonfire, outdoor games etc.) Parent helpers will be needed for those; please indicate if you are willing and able to help out, and we will contact you.
Worship leadership: your youth will be scheduled to read scripture or prayers for online worship.
All in-person activities are optional this year.
Confirmation Day for 8th graders will be May 2, 2021.
